Radical Fidelity – If the Synodal Church Didn’t Have Double Standards, It Would Have No Standards at All

It is with the usual wry amusement that I take note of the Southern African Catholic Bishops’ Conference’s (SACBC) announcement of the looming Laity Day.Surely this comes hot on the heels of the local parish’s Carnival Day, Youth Skills Day, Donate Blood Day, Two Grandpa’s Day and Guess the Sex of the Tranny Day. Anything, as long as it is not Let’s Be More Catholic Day.You, of course, have a bigger chance of being bitten by a dinosaur than finding a Catholic in said Bishops’ Conference who did not let the opportunity pass to remind the followers of their anti-religion that, “Under the theme, ‘Called to Be One Body: Walking Together in Faith and Mission,’ the celebration reflects the Church’s synodal journey.”
