Integrity Magazine – Book interview: Catholic scholar warns about Divine Mercy devotion in new critical study

Kirk Hansen is the author of the recently released book The Divine Mercy Devotion: A Critical Examination. Coming in at 240 pages, it is the culmination of many years of research. Its eighteen chapters examines whether the Diary of Sr. Faustina Kowalska reflects “the marks of authentic private revelation” and if it aligns with perennial Catholic teaching. Hansen’s book is an exhaustive study on the devotion, which has grown in popularity thanks to John Paul II. Hansen previously practiced the devotion, but says there are a number of red flags with it.
