Integrity Magazine – Exclusive: Sophia Press responds to accusations book left out key parts on Freemasonry, Jews

In late October, Catholic social media users began drawing attention to a book published in 2008 by Sophia Institute Press (hereafter Sophia), raising questions about the translation from the original French manuscript. Integrity Magazine has since reached out to Sophia for comment, the full timeline and details of which will be presented at the end of this essay. Translated by Susan Conroy and Peter McEnerny in 2008, “The End of the Present World” was written by nineteenth-century French priest Fr. Charles Arminjon (1824-1885). On its official website listing, Sophia advertises the book as approved by St. Thérèse of Lisieux. In the “Endorsements” section, St. Thérèse is quoted as saying: “Reading this book was one of the greatest graces of my life.” 1
