Catholic Manhood – Meekness, Not Weakness

Men, in the stories of old, the greatest men were and are never the loudest in the room.Such men stood quietly and confidently at the edge of firelight, with a fire in their eyes that loud men lacked. It is somewhat difficult to articulate one of those things where you know it when you see it. Something patient and hard to name. Great men did not demand to be followed. When darkness surrounded goodness and when hard, sacrificial decisions had to be made, great men accepted them head on without complaint and did not look back. The word eludes our modern minds because it is rarely taught, but always recognized. Such men are “meek”. Meekness defined and lived, what does that look like?

A Word That Has Been Stolen

Meekness is a word that has been taken from us and warped into something it was never meant to mean.
