Radical Fidelity – More Dark Tales from the Synodal Zone

I noted with wry bemusement earlier today a certain Catholic commentator’s “optimistically” titled essay, “Is the Fog of Francis Finally Lifting?”I don’t know, but if it is, it is being replaced by the thick toxic smog of Leo XIV.Prevost’s little Spanish excursion will be remembered as the Great Synodal Platitudes Tour. In a time when not only Spain, but Europe and the world at large, could really have done with the strong voice of the Catholic Church to give direction, to call to repentance, to provide Christ’s eternal truth to be grabbed onto once again, we sadly got the Synodal Church’s and its leaders’ poor imitation. The whole Spanish visit thus far has been infected with the syphilitic synodal virus as Bob from Chicago endlessly harped on about the “love”, “reconciliation”, “listening”, “discernment”, “journeying”, and “human dignity” garbage.
