Padre Peregrino – The Filioque in the Eastern Fathers.

As doctrinal mayhem ramps-up in Rome, more and more traditional Catholics are converting to Eastern Orthodoxy (EO.) I know some of them.>Still, I still believe the main reason for Catholics not to convert is because the EO have espoused serious heresies for a lot longer than Vatican II has been on our books as an experimental (and failed) pastoral council. Rather, the EO’s heresies are found in their doctrines on the Trinity and the Blessed Virgin Mary and even marriage (allowing contraception and “penitential marriages” meaning second or third marriages.) >Below is another Substack Friday-reprint originally found on my main site. It’s an important topic since many EO today will hesitantly admit that the Western Fathers believed in the Filioque (the notion that the Holy Spirit proceeds from both Father and Son.) That’s already a given, of course. But the big news below is that even many or all of the Eastern Fathers espoused the Filioque.
