Since I learned of it long ago, I have thought that the custom of honoring Mary, Mother of God, especially in May, especially by putting little bouquets of flowers in front of her image (be it an icon or statue), helps the housewife renew her vocation to tend to ordinary beauty in that clever way that turns challenges into acts of love.
