The assertion of ecumenical unity from Leo XIV is false as stated, but hits on an unintended truth.>

Leo XIV’s sermon on Christian Unity

Leo XIV told representatives of schismatic and heretical sects that Christians are “already one,” during a homily closing the 2026 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity on Sunday at the Basilica of St. Paul outside the Walls in Rome.>“We are one! We already are! Let us recognize it, experience it and make it visible!” he declared to an audience that included Metropolitan Polykarpos representing the Greek Orthodox Ecumenical Patriarchate, Archbishop Khajag Barsamian from the Armenian Apostolic Church, and Bishop Anthony Ball on behalf of the Anglican Communion.

Frank Wright – UNAPOLOGETIC HERESY

Fr. James Martin SJ preaches the New Religion: Cranmer table, BLAQQ Madonna, trans flag. July 2024

In this series I explain the traditional doctrine of the Catholic Church as defended in the masterpiece of Pope St Pius X, Pascendi Dominici Gregis.>

Pascendi (1907) was published as A Catechism of Modernism in 1908.

Comparing this “Catechism of Modernism” with the teachings of the Modern Church, I show how and why the New Religion is not the True Religion.>

WM Review – A valid papal election without cardinals? John Daly

The late David Bawden, also known as “Pope Michael.” By PhilipDeslippe CC BY-SA 4.0. As Amazon Associates, we earn from qualifying purchases through our Amazon links. See also The WM Review Shop.
What are the conditions for a valid papal election in the absence of designated electors?>

Editor’s Notes

The following article by Mr John Daly, published around 2006 in The Four Marks, examines the conditions and requirements for a papal election outside of the usual means envisioned by law.>In particular, he is examining attempts to hold extraordinary conclaves, as opposed to “imperfect general councils” (in which bishops might attempt to elect a Pope). Nonetheless, Mr Daly’s article raises issues that are relevant to both “means” of electing a Pope. His article is also relevant to our own present situation, given the increasing discussion of a meeting of bishops, which could involve such an election.

WM Review – Love of nation must be subject to the laws of God – Pope Pius XI

The national interest does not determine what is right and wrong.>

Editor’s Notes

In 1932, Pope Pius XI promulgated an encyclical titled Caritate Christi Compulsi, on the Sacred Heart. >But this was not a merely devotional encyclical. In it, the Pope denounced the evils of both Capitalism and Communism – and ways in which civil authorities attempt to uncrown and dethrone Christ the King.
