A number of stories over the past few days once again reminded me that one of the best things that could happen to Catholicism is for the apostate Synodal Church to officially change its name to exactly that: the Synodal Church.After all, it hardly refers to itself as the Catholic Church anymore, and one of the first declarations Robert Prevost made when he walked out onto the loggia was that “we want to be a Synodal Church.”We might lose the buildings and the Vatican, and the Church will be much smaller and humbler, but that might just be the dividing line we need to start rebuilding the true Catholic Church.
