The recent Senate hearing of Dr. Anthony Fauci turned into a farce when Republican Senator Rand Paul’s and others’ attempts to get answers on the government’s handling of COVID-19 were met with Fauci invoking his Fifth Amendment right more than 100 times. Fauci, the former director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), appeared before the U.S. Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee this week more than six years after the pandemic began.
