Catholic Top Gun – What It Means to Reject Purgatory

Yesterday, I read several anti-Catholic comments on the doctrine of Purgatory. One Protestant called it a “Catholic heresy.” Another called it a “spit on Christ’s Atonement.” Still, another called it, “unbiblical pagan nonsense.”>
Protestants believe they will go straight to heaven. If you ask them if they are perfect, they will acknowledge their sins and imperfections, but Christ’s righteousness covers their sins and imperfections as the ex-Catholic priest Martin Luther first taught. He used the analogy between man and Christ’s righteousness as man being a “pile of dung” covered with “snow.” God sees the snow, not the dung.>
The problem is that dung is still dung and according to the same Holy Scriptures, nothing defiled will enter Heaven. (Apoc. 21:27)
