Padre Peregrino – The Life of St. Mary of Egypt as Told by St. Zosimas.

Here, I’m sharing what I believe to be the greatest ancient account of God’s forgiveness and transformative mercy. It is about a female sex-addict become a canonized saint, St. Mary of Egypt. The reason I call her a sex-addict and not a prostitute (as many hagiographers claim) is because, as you will see from St. Zosimas himself, she sadly did everything for free. Thus, she had an addiction. And her conversion will give hope to even the most chain-bound sinner today.>The following may be my favorite short biography of any saint outside the Bible. However, because it is so long, you may consider doing the audio version here on Substack by tapping the top right “play” ▶️ button above this article. Or, you can listen on-the-go via my original site with my own voice here (which is 45 minutes long, but worth every minute of it.)>The following events are promised to be authentic by its original author, St. Zosima, a desert father. His account takes place in the 4th century, in the deserts of both Egypt and Jordan.
