Catholic Top Gun – Catholic Adults or Childish Catholics?

The earliest known image of Saint Patrick. The image is an illumination from a 13th-century French manuscript of the Legenda Aurea (Golden Legend), depicting Saint Patrick baptizing King Oengus of Cashel. The original manuscript is housed at the Huntington Library in California. Wearin’ o’ the Blue | The Huntington>
“When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child. But, when I became a man, I put away the things of a child.” (I Cor. 13:11)>
St. Paul is making an analogy between how we know Christ in this world compared to the next where we can only know Christ partially in the world but fully in the next. It’s like a child’s ways compared to that of an adult. A child is not wise, behaves on feelings, and not fully developed, but an adult is wise and matured.
